Have you ever looked up at the stars? Have you ever looked at the stars… ON WEED? All “Half Baked” references aside, enjoying cannabis and looking out at the stars is one of the more simple and awe-inspiring activities you can do. When I think of space and stars there is one person that comes to mind, Carl Sagan, and he just so happens to have a hybrid cannabis strain named after him.
The Carl Sagan is a famed American astronomer, cosmologist, astrophysicist, astrobiologist, author, and cannabis activist. He is most known for his work as a science communicator and science popularizer, per Wikipedia. Sagan created and hosted the documentary “Cosomos: A Personal Journey,” which is still one of the most watched programs in the history of American public television. This turned Sagan into a cultural icon and is responsible for a bringing astrology and cosmetology into pop-culture.
On top of making science cool, Sagan was a famous cannabis activist and wrote about it in papers and books over his lifetime. His most famous quote on the subject of cannabis legalization:
“The illegality of cannabis is outrageous, an impediment to full utilization of a drug which helps produce the serenity and insight, sensitivity and fellowship so desperately needed in this increasingly mad and dangerous world.”
The Carl Sagan strain is a mellow sativa hybrid named after the first famous astrologist. You might be expecting a crazy sativa that will shoot your brain to the moon and back, but that’s not what you get from a cross of Pre-98 Bubba Kush and Bogs Blue Moon Rocks, per Leafly. This is an awesome strain to kick back and learn about the stars and the history of the history of the universe.
