Check Out Immortal Technique At Neumos On Capitol Hill August 7

Immortal Technique is one of the most decorated underground hip-hop artists out there. The Peruvian-American came to Harlem New York in 1980. Tech put out his first album “Revolutionary Vol. 1” in 2001. Controversial lyrics that ranged from gang violence on the streets of Harlem, to South American geo-politics and conspiratorial American politics made him ultra-popular in the underground rap music ranks.

Immortal Technique has created five successful albums and continues to tour and sell out venues all over the country. Stoners and conspiracy theorists alike vibe out to his hard-hitting and thought-provoking rhymes. He’s coming to Seattle on August 7 to grace one of the town’s most recognized stages at Neumos.

Motivational Music: Aaron Cohen and The KnowMads

Some days we all need an emotional pick me up. Something to cut through the bs, the insecurities, and the voices telling you to just sit on the couch instead of training for your marathon or lifting weights. Those voices telling you to not start that business you’ve always dreamed of whatever it is.

Music helps me cut through my own bullshit and fuels much of my success. Lately, I’ve been bumping Aaron Cohen’s latest album See Red and The KnowMads newest single, Lost Generation.

Enjoy some cannabis, turn the music up loud, and go forth into your day. Keep moving forward and don’t look back.

Seattle Rapper Nacho Picasso Drops Newest Album “Role Model”

Nacho Picasso has made a name for himself in the Northwest hip-hop scene with dark, creepy, and funny flows about slinging dick, doing drugs and all around debauchery. Nacho isn’t a one-track artist, he also has a way of mixing in honest self-reflection about his vices and views on life in a light-hearted and comedic way. Nacho dropped his newest album “Role Model”  at the end of February. Per usual, New York producer Harry Fraud was on the beats, as well as SAT.

This album features chart topper Riff Raff on the song “Want It All.” Riff always has one-of-a-kind bars, somehow pulling out fun and clever rhymes about chili peppers, huskies, Gucci, and Versace.  My favorite track on the album is “Game.” A straight slapper that is going directly to my workout playlist. I love this song because of the Slim Shady reference near the end. “Role Model” is also one of Eminem’s A.K.A. Slim Shady’s most popular songs. The gruesome humor of Nacho’s bars remind me of Slim’s.

Check out Role Model on Bandcamp. It’s free to stream and only $5 to buy. I know it’s easy to stream stuff these days, but if you like this album, give Nacho, Harry Fraud, and Riff Raff $5. That’s one less coffee this week, don’t be a bum.

Seattle Hip-Hop Is On Fire Right On Now; Raz Simone & Sol Release New Music Videos

Raz Simone pays tribute to a fallen fan in a new music video, “My Child.”  Another Seattle star, Sol released a video to his single “If You Don’t Call.”

When tragedies happen, just keep your head up and keep mobbin.’ The video itself is simple, bouncing between shots of Raz rapping next to his black Tesla and him rapping in the middle of a beachside candlelight vigil. The feel fits most of Raz’s videos. Dark and intimate scenes aimed at enhancing Raz’s lyrics and overall message. His videos feel as intimate as his live performances do, it just another storytime with Raz Simone, the gangster poet.

“If You Don’t Call” is a song about losing love, finding it again, losing it again, and moving on all the same.  Sol has a special knack for rapping about girls, falling love, sensual moments with the opposite sex, and getting laid. This video follows Sol through a Drank-like rise to fame. He’s on talk shows and music video sets while various ex-girlfriends watch him on T.V. singing and doing cheesy choreographed dance moves. Sol doesn’t care if they call him back or not, that’s not the point. Sol believes every past experience with an ex is another chance to grow and learn as a human being.
