This is the KnowMads first major collaboration in recent memory and it was mostly written during the Couch Surfin’ Tour last year, in which All Star Opera opened for them. This track comes hot off the heels of All Star Opera’s debut album while laying the anticipation for a new KnowMads album expected by the end of the year.
“No Days Off” explores themes like exploring the world on a tour bus, sacrificing days off, grinding with your family and manifesting your dreams.
This song blends together the best elements from All Star Opera and the Knowmads. There’s a lot going on through this track, but all of the elements flow effortlessly. After a quick intro/skit about flirting with sandwich artists and touring banter with some shit-talking sprinkled in, Flow Carter and Tom Pepe start the track off with back-to-back verses. Then, Tom Wilson and All Star lead Pepe into the hook. Pepe rocks a catchy-feel-good hip-hop hook as good as anyone.
Wilson and Oz have smooth and pronounced flows that play off each other nicely in the next portion of the song. This record does a great job of blending Pepe and Wilson’s Knowmadic lyrical prowess with All Star’s signature funk-laden hip-hop sound. This isn’t a party or club anthem for the Summer. This record is an anthem for the drifters, hustlers, and everyone who actually works their ass off to live their dreams while other people happily choose the path of least resistance.
