The 2018 Capitol Hill Block Party (CHBP) has put together another three day weekend full of Seattle stars and international draws. If you’ve never been to the Capitol Hill Block Party the lineup is always fun whether you recognize the artist or not. CHBP always does a great job of putting together diverse lineups to appease all music fans. Even if you’re a complete negative Nancy and you can find a single band to get down to, CHBP becomes the biggest party in the city, an entire neighborhood walled off. All of the restaurants, coffee shops, and eateries within those walls become an adult playground for three days. Capitol Hill is one of the happiest places in Seattle and this is the best weekend to experience it.
If you’re unfamiliar with the lineup, here are some names you cannot miss each day. July 20 is headlined by Dillon Frances, who needs no introduction. He’s hilarious (Follow him on his social media and see for yourself.) and he spins straight slaps from the entire EDM spectrum. He has a goofy persona but he’s a serious musician and his sets don’t disappoint Sol is the other artist you can’t miss from day one, a local MC that is legendary in Seattle’s hip-hop scene.
July 21 you’re going to want to catch Chet Porter and Parisalexa. Parisalexa has quickly blown up into one of Seattle’s hottest R&B artists. Chet Porter makes bubbly and happy dance music that has great vocals and samples that is sure to set some beautiful vibes.
July 22 be sure to catch Two Feet, Father John Misty and Ryan Caraveo. Two Feet is who I’m personally most excited to see, His simple sounds evoke real emotion and make you dance your ass off. Ryan Caraveo is a Seattle born MC that has already graced a CHBP stage as well as Sasquatch and Bumbershoot festivals. This guy has garnered a cult following for raw honesty and bars filled with stories from his life. This is Caraveo’s second time rocking with CHBP. Father John Misty sings soulful music that is a mix of blues, country, and bluegrass. His music is incredibly emotional and if you like any type of music that resembles country, I’d stop by this set.
