Everett locals know that Music at the Marina is a great way to enjoy a spectacular Northwest summer evening. But while admission is free, and folks are encouraged to picnic, alcohol is a no-no. So make sure to swing by KushMart on the way there to stock on some of your favorite flower or edibles!
A slew of eclectic bands are booked every Saturday until the end of August, so no matter what gets your groove on, Music at the Marina has got you covered. This week, be sure to bring your dancing shoes, because Latin ensemble Mambo Cadillac will deliver a set of rollicking salsa, and after a couple of minutes in the grip of these talented players, listeners will feel like they’ve been transported to Havana’s legendary Buena Vista Social Club.
But like we said, instead of a Cuba Libre, reach for a pick-me-up from KushMart favorites like Phat Panda or Herbin Harvest.
More Caribbean flair will be on tap in mid August, when TradiCuba will treat audiences to its special brand of spicy Cuban dance music, and DoctorFunk will kick off the month with some high-energy soul and funk that’s sure to get folks onto the dance floor. Grammy-nominated bluesman Mark DuFresne and his band will close out this year’s Music at the Marina series with a performance the last weekend of August, and any blues fan should jump at the chance to catch this explosive harmonica talent live. For decades, DuFresne has been treating audiences all over the world to his unique, innovative playing, which Blues Review Magazine called “tuneful, melodic and grooveworthy,” and he’s just back from touring Europe with a crew of Italian virtuosos. While he’s reportedly missing the pasta, DuFresne is all set to put on a spirited show now that’s he’s home!
For a full list of performances and set times, head to the official Music at the Marina site, and don’t forget to hit KushMart before you head to the concerts. As always, your friendly budtenders are standing by!
