Nacho Picasso has made a name for himself in the Northwest hip-hop scene with dark, creepy, and funny flows about slinging dick, doing drugs and all around debauchery. Nacho isn’t a one-track artist, he also has a way of mixing in honest self-reflection about his vices and views on life in a light-hearted and comedic way. Nacho dropped his newest album “Role Model” at the end of February. Per usual, New York producer Harry Fraud was on the beats, as well as SAT.
This album features chart topper Riff Raff on the song “Want It All.” Riff always has one-of-a-kind bars, somehow pulling out fun and clever rhymes about chili peppers, huskies, Gucci, and Versace. My favorite track on the album is “Game.” A straight slapper that is going directly to my workout playlist. I love this song because of the Slim Shady reference near the end. “Role Model” is also one of Eminem’s A.K.A. Slim Shady’s most popular songs. The gruesome humor of Nacho’s bars remind me of Slim’s.
Check out Role Model on Bandcamp. It’s free to stream and only $5 to buy. I know it’s easy to stream stuff these days, but if you like this album, give Nacho, Harry Fraud, and Riff Raff $5. That’s one less coffee this week, don’t be a bum.
