Vape Carts: Everything You Need to Know About Vaping Cannabis Oil

Home / Vape Carts: Everything You Need to Know About Vaping Cannabis Oil

There’s no surprise that vape carts are more popular than ever, and understandably so. We now can vape cannabis oil on the go, ease-free. They’re discreet, easily portable, and less time-consuming. Plus, not to mention, they elevate our experience with terpenes. What’s not to love?

What’s a Vape Cart?

Vape cartridges are small devices that are equipped with a heating element and a mouthpiece that is filled with a cannabis concentrate. This oil concentrate contains a combination of cannabinoids and terpenes that play an essential part in our high. When vaporized, we’re able to experience the flavor and aroma of terpenes more intensely.

The compact design of the vape makes it easy to travel with and consume discreetly. They can make for the perfect companion for those road trips or family gatherings. As far as the hardware goes, you’ll find a variety of cartridge styles ranging from single-use disposables to detachable batteries that are easy to swap out, such as Buddies.

So, What’s Inside a Vape Cartridge?

Inside the vape cartridge, you’ll find a cannabis concentrate. However, the type of concentrate can vary depending on the product. Some of these options include:

  • Distillate – Through the extraction process, distillate is created by stripping down all excess materials and compounds, except for one specific cannabinoid. Distillate is desirable due to its high potency and versatility. THC oil and cannabidiol (CBD) oil are the most common distillate forms.
  • Rosin – This is a cannabis concentrate that is made without using any solvents or chemicals. It relies on heat and pressure to extract the cannabis compounds. Rosin is one of the smoother extracts to vape.
  • Live Resin – This luxury concentrate is refined from freshly harvested, flash-frozen cannabis. Next, the cannabinoids and terpenes are then extracted at subcritical temperatures to preserve the maximum flavor and aroma. These cartridges tend to be more expensive but are often considered higher quality.

As you can see, each form of concentrate has its own unique properties, and each results in a slightly different high.

Cannabis Derived Terpenes Vs. Botanical Terpenes

In terms of cannabis, terpenes are what produce certain smells, tastes, and even medicinal benefits that we see in different cannabis plants. The terpenes found in vape carts can be separated into two categories: cannabis-derived terpenes and botanical terpenes.

  • CannabisDerived Terpenes: are naturally occurring in the cannabis plant and were traditionally created as a natural pest repellent. In layman’s terms, cannabis-derived terpenes are cannabis essential oils.
  • Botanical Terpenes: are terpenes derived from non-cannabis plant sources. By sourcing terpenes from other plants, we get the same quality but it allows us access to a greater variety of medicinal benefits.

When compared, they both enhance the flavor and aroma of the vapor produced by a vape cart. Ultimately, it depends on the user’s desired goals and the therapeutic benefits that one wishes to achieve.

We suggest heading to our online menu or visiting us in-store at our Everett dispensary to check out the variety of vape carts that we have to offer. We carry every type of cannabis cartridge that is mentioned in this article, with hundreds of options from dozens of brands available.
